This textile sculpture evolved though collaborating with another artist, Pat Clayton who uses a similar theme to mine. A piece of fabric was passed backwards and forwards between us over a period of time until we felt enough stitching had been done. The fabric was coloured with paint and dye, stitched by hand and machine, manipulated with tucks, cut apart and re-pieced. The eventual worked fabric was then manipulated using gathering and the shape constructed echoing the curves of a shell.
