This is a machine made piece reflecting the curving shape of a shell. Silk thread is dyed and then wrapped by machine using a variagated thread. This element is then manipulated and further stiched by machine to create curving shapes that are joined together. Some parts that are difficult to reach are hand stitched. Shells represent the timeless nature of life, of the endless continuum, season following on from season. Curves wind on and on as does the continual taking in of information, that is unravelled and reworked.
